Our house is located close to the coastal town of La Rochelle and there are many things to do and enjoy in the area.
After discovering the islands of Ré and Oléron, you will take the boat to sail around Fort Boyard and enjoy the small island of Aix. Then you might go to Rochefort where you will visit the old Arsenal, the Corderie Royale (a former rope-factory), its dry-dock, the famous ship The Hermione, before going to walk on the old cobblestones of the magnificent Citadel of Brouage. And if you still have time, the Green Venice and the Marais Poitevin will charm you with its quietness.

In the village of Montroy, you can try the very good authentic Pizzeria “La Perla”, offering Italian flavours, thanks to a chef who is the vice-champion of France for pizzas.
